Where’s Salvatore?

Standard

No one knew how Ziggy, a ginger tabby cat, got around. But many knew that he traveled far and wide. When he was done with his adventures, he would go home to his boy, Salvatore Ritondo. His boy was good to him. Provided the cat with lots of dry food, cat toys, treats, and of course love.

But Salvatore was a librarian. He worked hard during the week to help educate people. He encouraged them to read and write. Soon he was so busy he forgot to check in on his friends. Alex Zoltai, Arton Tripsa, and Silver Moon Unicorn kept waiting for him to show up. Weeks went by without any sign of Salvatore. Then months started to pass.

Arton couldn’t stand it anymore. She spied Ziggy by himself exploring The State of Writing, one of her worlds. “Ziggy, welcome. How are going?”

“Meow!”

“Good, good. It’s good to see you. I have some cat treats for you.”

“Meow!”

“This way, Ziggy.” Arton led Ziggy into the Muse Center where she wasted no time in finding the cat treats.

Soon the cat was content and purring loudly. He laid down on some pillows and went to sleep. Arton smiled at him. She knew if she could entice Ziggy to stay, that Salvatore would soon follow. An idea came to her. She smiled at the sleeping cat.

Silver Moon stopped in The State of Writing. She knew she would have a long day before her, but she was hoping to gather some inspiration and organize her thoughts before she began her work for the today. She wandered around the world and from time to time, she checked her tablet to see if anyone else was in world.

She found there were two people other than herself in The State of Writing. She walked towards them. She found them inside the Muse Center. “Hello!”

“Oh, hello, Silver Moon. How are you going?”

“I’m alive. How are you?”

“Good.”

“Oh, Ziggy is here!”

Ziggy yawned and stretched. “Meow.”

Silver Moon walked over to the cat and petted him. “It’s been too long, Ziggy. It’s good to see you again.”

“Meow.” He purred.

“I hope this means your boy will be coming around soon.” Silver Moon continued to pet the ginger tabby.

“Actually I was planning to send Salvatore a tuft from Ziggy’s tail for ransom.”

“Oh! Okay.” Silver Moon looked at Arton. “That’s one way to get Salvatore to come visit. She used her tablet to track down the blue guy. Her tablet was certainly coming in handy. Not only could she track down the entirely blue guy, Salvatore, but she could also find ways to get to him quickly. “I’ll be back, Ziggy and Arton.”

“Meow.”

“See you later.”

He was pulling into the driveway when she ran up to his house. “Salvatore!”

“Silver Moon! This is a surprise.”

“Where have you been? You’ve been neglecting your friends again!”

He laughed. “I love it when you yell at me.”

“Arton has Ziggy in The Sate of Writing and she’s holding him for ransom.”

“Ransom for Zigman?”

“Yes! You’ve got to go back and visit us for a while. You shouldn’t neglect your friends.”

“Alright, but how are we going to get there now?”

She held up her tablet. She made some notes as he approached her. She didn’t give him any warning and just grabbed his arm. Soon they were floating upward in the sky.

“Well, this is certainly a nice view.”

She said nothing and she held onto her tablet and Salvatore’s arm. Then they were approaching a plane.

“Sena! Emily! Let us in! Please!” shouted Silver Moon.

The back door of a plane opened and there stood Emily and Sena. They grabbed Silver Moon and Salvatore and strapped them into a couple of seats. Then the duo shut the back door.

Emily smiled. “I trust you two will enjoy your trip.”

Silver Moon nodded.

Sena spoke up, “We are currently on our way to The State of Writing. Alex will land the plane there.”

“Oh, good,” said Salvatore.

“We have bags in case you get sick…”

Silver Moon grimaced.

Alex landed the plan perfectly in the designated spot. Arton was standing close by with Ziggy.

“Hello, Arton and Ziggy.”

“Hello.”

“Meow.”

Sena and Emily opened the back door and let Silver Moon and Salvatore out. They walked around until they found Alex, Arton, and Ziggy.

“Guess who I found?”

“Sal!”

“About time!”

“Meow!”

Everyone laughed and exchanged pleasantries. They spent a few hours together discussing reading and writing with a happy cat who wasn’t harmed in any way.
